Plus Size: Shopping at Victoria’s Secret Pink

**note: Will be posting pictures later.

Victoria’s Secret is one of those stores that are not all size inclusive, they only carry up to a size large. Once in a blue moon, I do see some XL’s. Now a long long time ago I didn’t shop at Victoria’s Secret or their Pink store. One reason being they are expensive and the second being I didn’t want to go in there and have all their workers staring at me. Besides every time I walk past the store in the mall, I only see smaller size girls in there. One day after seeing one of my coworkers, she is a size or two bigger than me, coming in wearing a VS Pink Sherpa jacket, I ask her what size she wears in the store. She casually told me she wears a large. Then all my other coworkers jumped into our conversation and they all told me I should go in and try in some of the clothes. So, I took their advice and went after work.

To give you all an overall picture, I wear size XL or 1X, but because of my chest area and huge upper and underarm areas I sometimes go up to XXL or 2X especially if the sleeves are made small, it’s button up shirt or it’s just tight on my bust. I wear a size 16 or XL in pants, and I have had a few instances when I had to go up to a size 18 in jeans.

Once inside VS Pink, I look around for a while and finally found a shirt and legging that I like. The shirt I bought was an XL and I have to admit it looked big and it fits big. The shirt was not available in a large, but I should have tried on the size medium since the XL already looks and fit like an XXXL on me. As for the legging, I bought it in a large and it didn’t fit all that well. While the legs fit perfectly, I needed more area in the crotch area. It’s a good thing that I do own a few oversize shirts. My second trip to VS Pink I bought, a pullover black hoodie, yellow short -sleeves t-shirt, black long sleeve shirt, another pair of leggings and a pair of slim fit high waisted joggers. Everything is size large except for the joggers which is an XL.

The second pair of leggings surprisingly fitted much better than the first pair I bought, there was enough room in the crotch area for me, so I didn’t have to worry about showing a camel toe. I was glad that I got all three tops in a size L because they all fitted perfectly. Although I did wish that I could have bought the hoodie in an XL for a looser look, the large does fit me well. As for the joggers I’m glad I went with the XL and not the large, because the jogger fits me just like how I like it I do prefer the looser look when it comes to sweat pants and joggers.

Overall, if you are larger size girl and want to go shop inside of VS Pink then you should go. I know it may feel intimidating to go inside a place out of your comfort zone, especially when you walk in and all the workers there aren’t around your size body. But that shouldn’t still stop you from looking around to find something that fits. In addition, you should really look at all the different styles they available so that you will know which styles fit your body. When I went shopping there, I took my time looking around at all the different styles picking up the largest size they had available to see if the style was made running small or bigger. I didn’t try on the clothes in the store, but I do suggest doing so. The quality of all their clothes are pretty good, but I don’t think it’s worth the price. To me, it’s just like another pair of expensive shirt or bottom that I can find for less at Ross. It’s just another popular brand name that every teen and young woman likes to buy and wear, and you can’t find for less at a discounted store.

  1. Victoria’s Secret is a luxury brand clothing store. I don’t think they are all that. The clothes they sell look fantastic because the clothes are designed and tailored to the models wearing them. Everyone has a different body. If the clothes do not fit you, then they don’t fit you. At the same time, anyone would look good too if they have luxury clothing tailored and made to their body sizes.

  2. Amazing blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?
I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little
lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There
are so many choices out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
    Any tips? Cheers!

    1. Hi!
I’m no professional blogger, so I don’t have much helpful suggestions. However, are a few tips that I have from blogging these past few years. Definitely, start from a free platform once you get enough readers you can upgrade. Make sure to write, write, write, and be active (something I don’t do often anymore but plan to return to). Lastly, don’t give up!

      Thanks for stopping by!
